Welcome the new Australian Girl doll

A great family friend has just launched the most amazing new range of doll ... they're called Australian Girl, and they're just gorgeous!

Check out the website and you'll find 4 beautiful dolls, designed for girls who are too old for baby dolls, but not old enough for those more mature fashion dolls. They have gorgeous clothes and accessories too. Personally, my girls are thrilled that one of the dolls is a combination of the two of them (looks like my oldest, same name as my youngest). There are cartoons, and so much more. Check out the pre-release offer and snap one up, because they're going to fly out the door fast!

Sweet Dollies - great for signatures at parties!

A couple of months ago I made my girls a doll each, from a pattern I bought on Etsy. They're constant companions, and we get compliments on them everywhere we go.

Check it out ... Bit of Whimsy Dolls!

Bit of Whimsy dolls are the brainchild of Sarah Faix of www.bitofwhimsyprims.etsy.com and just shout 'buy me' every time I visit her shop. She has a real knack of achieving a beautiful shabby chic look with her dolls that simply eludes me when I'm choosing fabric. And not only does Sarah sell her little creations ... you can buy the patterns as well! This is where I went a bit nuts, and I have a few of them now (and no time to sew them, of course). I follow Bit of Whimsy Dolls on Twitter as well, which lets me in on secret sales and special offers. Pirate monkeys, sleepy peanuts, sweet mae girls, cats, guinea pigs, lambs, squid ... something for girls and boys and safe for little ones. If you're a beginner sewer, get one of these patterns ... they have the most user-friendly instructions I have ever used (and I've been sewing for 27 years!) and will yield excellent results. Incredible customer service goes hand in hand with a top product. I return often to Bit Of Whimsy Dolls :)

Now ... if you have a 21st, 18th, 30th, engagement or wedding coming up, you could make one of these spectacular dolls in a plain fabric for your guests to sign. Check out the shop, and you can contact Sarah for a custom order.

Pelican Pals

After seeing a huge flock of pelicans at feeding time yesterday, I just couldn't wait to set this angelic little boy afloat with his pelican pal. That would be a smooth ride, me-thinks :)

If you have a child, or child-at-heart who would squeal with delight seeing themselves paddling with a pelican, saddling up a snail or hanging out with a spider on his web, then please email me for details on how to order at dlewis71@aapt.net.au .... and to see more samples, click the link at the top right of this blog and check the Fairy Portrait folder.

School Book labels

I'm sooooo excited about this new range! Personalised school book labels. I have a large variety of backgrounds to choose from ... just add name, subject and class. If you have a child into something particular (like stars) or one who has a trademark colour (like Purple), then I can create a unique label just for them.

Labels have a matte finish and measure 2" x 3" (5cm x 7.5cm).
Cost - 50c each + postage ($1 regular or $4 Express Post).

You can follow the link on the right to see larger samples, or please email me at dlewis71@aapt.net.au to order.

Wall Art

Here's an example of what I like to call 'Wall Art'. This gorgeous piece comes in 10x8, and is like a decorated mat board with the photos built in! Just drop it into any 10x8 frame, and you have instant art to hang on your wall! This is just one design, and then can be created with any theme or colour scheme to suit your photos.

New Baby Shower Invitations

I've added some cute new 10cm x 10cm (or 4" x 4") invitations to my range. These are baby shower invitations, and can be created in 5" x 5" or 6" x 6" as well. And it doesn't have to be orange daisies ... how about pink roses, yellow sunflowers, bright gerberas or a bold red waratah instead! Ultrasound pics on the baby shower invitation also look great :)

Last night my good friend Kate and I went the studios of Channel 10 in Sydney to audition for Ready Steady Cook. Well, we thought it went well ... after all ... we're superstars LOL. And we were right! They called today to book us for taping in about 3 weeks. It's terribly exciting stuff, and I cannot wait to be up there, hopefully with a red apron on cooking for the Tomato team with a top chef. Not sure when it will go to air, but I'll update when I know :D
